Parents and Families

One of Early Childhood North Central Iowa’s core beliefs is that education is vital to a child’s growth and development. ECNCI encourages families to enroll their children in age appropriate education and desires to remove barriers to such enrollment.

Early Childhood North Central Iowa provides tuition assistance for families of eligible 3yr olds.  We provide tuition for those families under the 200% federal poverty level first and if funding is available will seek to provide partial scholarships for families over that level.  Funding will pay for full tuition up to $150/mo. for 9 months.

Applications can be downloaded here( Tuition Assistance Scholarship Apllication ) and are also available from local area preschools.

Qualified applicants include:

Families whose child attends a three year old quality preschool program.

Families whose child attends a four year old quality preschool program not already receiving statewide funding for that child.

·      Early Childhood North Central Iowa will provide funding only in those circumstances where other funding is not available.  If Head Start or a state-funded 4yr old preschool exists in that district, those slots need to be filled before alternative licensed preschool programs are considered for tuition assistance.

·      Qualifying preschools include those that are participating in QPPS (verified or in process), participating in QRS level 3 or higher, are NAEYC accredited or are complying with Head Start standards.  Please ask your preschool if they qualify for tuition assistance.
